Having a body care routine, whether it’s a head-to-toe scrub or a quick swipe of body butter, not only gives your skin that healthy looking glow but can make you feel pretty good about yourself.
How often we should exfoliate our skin?
How often to exfoliate depends on your skin type and the type of exfoliation you’re using. Some chemical exfoliants can be strong, for example. In general, exfoliating skin one to two times a week is enough to be effective for dry skin.
Oily skin may require more frequent exfoliation. Avoid over-exfoliating as it can lead to redness and irritation.
What are the steps to take care of the skin?
Here are some steps to take care of the skin:
- STEP 1: SCRUB
- Start your routine with an exfoliating body scrub. They’re a great way to buff away old skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Simply dampen your skin in the bath or shower and scoop up a generous amount of your favourite scrub. Massage in circular motions to slough away dry, dead skin.
- STEP 2: WASH
- Rinse off your body scrub, along with your dead skin (and all your troubles) with a body wash that’s best suited to your skin type. Get your loofah or your hand, and squirt on a healthy amount of body wash. Massage all over your body, behind your ears and in between your toes, to really cleanse your body
- STEP 3: MOISTURISE
- You’ve scrubbed away your dead skin cells and you’ve cleansed from top to toe. Now it’s time to lock-in some extra moisture with a yogurt, butter or cream. Simply slather on your moisturiser of choice and massage it all over your body and do a funky dance while it sinks in.
Got some patches that need some extra loving? A body oil is a great way to nourish those areas – particularly dry spots, like your knees and elbows. With our body oils, a little goes a long way – just pour a tiny amount onto your hand and massage in.
